Roster
The current roster of speakers is:
- Chris Brogan speaks about the business applications of social media and social networks. Blending the worlds of “wow, this is neat!” and “you could use this for business applications,” Chris brings a strong focus on how communities and marketplaces differ and intersect, and he uses his talks to guide you through the challenges of “turning bullhorns into party hats:” how marketing works in a social networking world. Known for dynamic presentations with lots of anecdotes and colorful presentation materials, Chris moves from the 20,000 foot level into actionable points you can put into action yourself.
- C.C. Chapman has been called everything from a new media maven, a podcasting pioneer and even a grounded futurist. He prefers to call himself a passionate member of the new media playground who enjoys helping build the community and connecting everyone in it. He was most recently the Vice President of New Marketing for crayon, a leading conversational marketing firm. He was the project lead for the highly successful Virtual Thirst campaign for The Coca-Cola Company. He has also completed work for diverse clients from The Weinstein Company to Busch Entertainment. Since launching The Advance Guard in 2007 he has worked with the likes of St. Martin’s Press, Verizon FiOS and American Eagle Outfitters. He also was recently voted to serve as an Advisory Board Member to the Association for Downloadable Media in 2008.
- Christopher S. Penn is a leader in new media with an intuitive sense for how marketing and community outreach should be done. He has been called upon for expert information by researchers for the Congressional Advisory Committee on Student Financial Aid and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as having been sought after for conferences and private intensive seminars. He speaks daily on his Financial Aid Podcast internet radio show on topics of personal finance, college affordability, and career/professional development. Mr. Penn has also been featured in many books, newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, magazines such as BusinessWeek, television, and publications for his leadership in new media.
